Award Application Process

• the 5-page submission
• the 3-minute video
• the team member information
• the brief description and the nominator/reference
  before 15 Nov HK time (12 p.m.)

Application Process

Contestants should complete the online application form together with:

• a description (no more than 5 pages of A4 size in English or Chinese) of the WHY (vision) – WHO (the team members and the target market/audience) – WHAT (mission and value proposition) – HOW (the implementation) of the initiative (including the roles of each team member) and the impact it has achieved – economic, social, cultural and/or environmental – in both quantitative and qualitative terms
• a 3-minute video summarizing the salient points of the written submission
• a nominator or a reference

Entries for the 2011 MaD Award should be submitted online by 15 November, 2010.

Selection Process⁵

In December, the MaD Award secretariat will announce a shortlist of 5 teams for each of the student and young adult category. The finalist teams will be interviewed by a panel of judges. The teams will undergo a case study exercise to further demonstrate their ability to spot opportunities and handle crisis. For participants from outside Hong Kong, we will make separate arrangements for the interview, which may include a sponsored trip to Hong Kong to coincide with the MaD 2011 Forum in January.

The panel of judges will select three finalists (for each of the student and young adult category) for presentation at the MaD 2011 Forum in January. The finalist teams will each be required to give a 3-minute presentation at the MaD 2011 Forum for voting by the forum participants.
