In response to the many challenges of our time, we need people who are:

More resilient, not afraid of complexities and ready to take risks
Willing to embrace diversity and plurality
Able to cross boundaries and synthesize knowledge
Possess an innovative mindset and versatile capabilities for socially beneficial actions

Education is instrumental to the cultivation of such people. While the above qualities are not emphasized in formal education, the MaD School aims to fill the gap.

The MaD team thanks The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for their support to the JC Make A Difference School in 2012 which will provide a uniquely “MaD” education – cross-disciplinary, innovative, socially conscious and action-oriented – on a year-round basis.

Through programmes on creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship presented with global partners, the School is a platform for exchange on cutting-edge ideas and a reflective learning community exploring the mindset, values and methodologies conducive to positive change.

Jockey Club Make a Difference Scholarship
MaD unblocks your passion to learning

Enthusiastic to learn and make a difference? – Don't let money be a problem! MaD believes in equal opportunities. We launched the Jockey Club Make a Difference Scholarship to grant full or partial subsidies to those with financial need. You can apply for the Scholarship by

telling us your purpose in joining a particular MaD School programme, and
stating your financial conditions with valid document(s) of proof, such as copy of family income proof or other related statements.

Remember to state "Applying for the Jockey Club Make a Difference Scholarship (name of the programme you want to join)" as the subject. Your application will be vetted and you will be notified of the result before the programme starts.

Give and take is the principle of this scholarship. If you are selected, you will share your learning with other MaDees by:

writing an entry in the MaD Blog after each event day, and
compiling a reflective report in written form, picture or video upon completion of the programme.

Jockey Club Make a Difference School is a MaD initiative. Organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture, MaD is a sustainable platform evolving round creativity, entrepreneurship, innovation and discovery. It inspires and empowers youngsters from Hong Kong and Asia to create positive personal and social change.
