"How are you today?" – In Search of the Edges of Sound
Every sound travels. Every sound leaves traces in space. But where does it go? How does it begin? Where and how does it end? In this workshop, we begin from familiar phrases that we use in daily life – so familiar that we have almost forgotten their power to move and excite, their power to change our lives. We find places for them; we listen to each other voicing them out from different spots; we listen to how they transform when mediated by electronic sound effects. Let's shout and whisper to an unfamiliar place, spilling our voices over for the future to come.

1+2 on the Lawn
The most popular setting of Chinese traditional theatre is 1+2, i.e. one table and two chairs. It is the most usual yet also the most creative setting ever as it can act as the symbol of a wide range of stuff.

Placing a set of 1+2 on the lawn in West Kowloon is actually transcending time and space. With the most traditional setting, let's have a dialogue with the modern world in quest of our future opportunity in art and creation.

DIALOGUE – with curator Leandro PISANO and YEUNG Yang

Sitting on a piece of lawn in the nowhere of the West Kowloon Cultural District, Leandro Pisano, director of Italy-based Interferenze New Arts Festival, and Yeung Yang, founder of soundpocket, will share their experiences in placing sound in creases and gaps, the leftover from the pride of urbanization. Can reviving the idea of the rural shed light on urban practices of art? What meanings do the rural produce for new media and sonic art forms?
