1+2 on the Lawn
07.01.2012
5:45 PM – 7:15 PM
Lawn, West Kowloon Promenade
English
The most popular setting of Chinese traditional theatre is 1+2, i.e. one table and two chairs. It is the most usual yet also the most creative setting ever as it can act as the symbol of a wide range of stuff.
Placing a set of 1+2 on the lawn in West Kowloon is actually transcending time and space. With the most traditional setting, let's have a dialogue with the modern world in quest of our future opportunity in art and creation.

William YIP loves theatre, and believes that "drama is empowerment"! He is primarily a theatre director whose works include musicals, theatre repertoires, original plays and experimental theatre works. He is also a drama teacher, actor, translator and producer. In 2006, he founded Theatre Noir to make dialogue with the community through the company's creative drama programmes and theatrical performances. Recently, he created a series of workshops for the British Council to encourage Creative Science Communication. The workshops have been conducted in Hong Kong, Hangzhou and Beijing.
