- What is MaD 2012?
Bringing to Hong Kong an exciting line-up of international changemakers and a series of activities, MaD 2012 will be an energizing boost for you and other 1,200 youngsters from Asia and beyond.

Check out the videos from MaD 2010 and 2011 to get a better idea of the immense inspiration you will have at the MaD forum. Watching the highlight of MaD 2011 will also let you have a foretaste of MaD. However, we encourage you to come to the forum and meet the changemakers yourself with an open mind and active attitude. - Can I join MaD if I am not from Hong Kong?
MaD is an Asian platform for young people aged 16-35 from all over Asia. If you are from other parts of the world and want to learn about Asia, you are also welcome. - Is MaD really for everyone?
MaD believes in equal opportunities and strives to bring in a crowd as diverse as possible. If you have special needs, let us know and we are happy to assist your participation in MaD. Waivers are applicable to those with financial difficulties; see Q14 for details. Physically challenged participants can also contact us if assistance is needed. - Who can join MaD 2012?
MaD is primarily for aged 16-35 and admission is offered to this group at a heavily subsidized rate. If you are over 35 and passionate about MaD, you are most welcome to join at a fee of $1,800.
You can also support MaD as a mentor. A donation of $3,000 will cover admission for you and an underprivileged participant. Your generosity will make a difference to the life of an aspiring young person. - If I am older 35, can I still join MaD 2012?
MaD is primarily for youngsters aged 16-35. However, if you are over 35 and passionate about MaD, you can join us at a fee of $1,800 for a 3-day pass. - What languages will be used at MaD?
While most of the talks will be conducted in English, simultaneous interpretation in English/Putonghua/Cantonese will be provided for the Dialogues held at the auditorium. MaD also encourages participants to help out each other to help break the language boundary. - When can I apply for MaD 2012?

- How can I apply for MaD 2012? What is the procedure?
Registration takes a few minutes only.
Step 1: Go to www.MaD.asia for online registration.
Step 2: Pay by PayPal, bank transfer or cheque.
Step 3: A confirmation email will be sent to you once the transaction is confirmed.
Step 4: In December you will receive another email, informing you to register for a workshop of your choice on a first-come, first-served basis.
Step 5: (3-day pass holder) Check in at MaD 2012 on 6.01.2012 to get your pass.
(2-day pass holder) Check in at MaD 2012 on 7.01.2012 to get your pass. - What does registration cost?
3-day pass (6-8.01.2012): $680
2-day pass (7-8.01.2012): $480 - What is included in the registration fee?
Registration includes admittance to a wide selection of parallel activities at MaD 2012. Each registrant will also be notified to pre-register for one workshop to ensure a spot. - What if I cannot attend the whole MaD 2012? / Do I have to attend the whole MaD 2012?
Participants who cannot attend the Opening of MaD 2012 can choose the 2-day pass and participate in the exciting programmes on Jan 6-8, 2012. - Could MaD 2012 be counted as "Other Learning Experiences" (OLE)?
Yes, MaD 2012 is recognized by Hong Kong's Education Bureau as an "Other Learning Experience," suitable for senior secondary students and young teachers. - Will MaD 2012 provide any financial assistance to those who cannot afford to pay the admission fee?
